Hey all, We are new to this pig business. We are in central Texas North of College Station. We have 2 sows and a boar, 1 sow about ready to "bingo" and of course it is the coldest it has been with wind chills at 2 for the next two days, sure hope she waits for a few more days. These pigs are sure enjoyable, it took them a couple of weeks to "friendly up" and now I feel real comfortable getting in the farrowing hut if she needs me during birth. We decided to follow a naming program to show our appreciation of Country Singers, we call our boy Willie and our girls are Patsy and Loretta. We also have Large Black Hogs, chickens, guineas, ducks, donkeys and Longhorns. We grow fruits and vegetables here on our place, non-certified organically. Keep us in mind about May/June for the Blackberries.
